Eva Victor’s extraordinary feature debut, Sorry, Baby, may just be one of those films that inspires/changes the way we see and think about storytelling, changes how we see and think and tell storiesin cinema. It’s a film that engages with life via the heart. In this program, Victor will give an artist’s-eye-view of how this remarkable film was developed and came into being: what their choices were, how they pitched their ideas, how the film was shot and created—and, as writer/director/actor, how those different roles were balanced. They will show clips from selected scenes and unpack the process and experiences of making the film. They will be joined by iconic producer Adele Romanski (Moonlight, MVFF39; Aftersun, 2022). For filmmakers and audiences alike, this inside look into the creative process is a must!
This program is an onstage conversation with film clips, and presentation of the Mind the Gap Award for filmmaking to Eva Victor.
