Love of Your Life
When career nurse Mimi (Margaret Qualley, Blue Moon MVFF48) finds the love of her life, it's exhilarating, profound, and wonderfully crazy. But as things are upturned by the pandemic, all bets are off. Qualley and director Rachel Morrison (MTG Award 2025, The Fire Inside) explore the uncharted emotional territory facing Mimi as she abruptly leaves home and cuts herself off from the life she’s known, even long-time best friend Jason (Patrick Schwarzenegger). Over time, she travels to Portugal and—after an interlude with Felix (Aaron Pierre) begins to soften her heart—onward to London. Morrison’s fluid storytelling takes us on a journey both geographic and emotional that takes place over several years and locations before Mimi returns to the East Coast. One of the first films to explore the emotional landscape of the effects of the pandemic, it’s a story that dives beneath the surface of feelings and experiences that are uplifting and heartbreaking, challenging and sometimes just messy—and are deeply relatable. —Zoë Elton
